Employment Contracts for all workers

At present, employers are required to provide a written statement of terms and conditions to employees within two months of their employment starting.  However, from 6 April 2020, employers will be required to provide a written statement of terms and conditions to all workers, including casual workers and some contractors and consultants (not just employees) and this will need to be provided on or before the first day of work (rather than within two months of employment starting).  Employers should review employment contracts before April 2020 to ensure any necessary changes are made and remind line managers to issue contracts on the first day of work, if not before.
